An arabic country with a very european feel. Its mixed with modern and traditional, the landscape is amazing and the people are friendly and open to different cultures. Everything you need you can find in lebanon, either the city life or the country life or the beautiful beaches. These people know how to enjoy life and the food is amazingly fresh…sadly some areas got destroyed due to the war and the problems that occured there earlier but this only adds to its beauty as a country thats been through a lot and still has a lot.
Mostly to see the Mediterranean from another angle. I know the political situation is a bit sketchy right now, but I’d like to go at some point if things cool off. I have friends who live there that I can stay with and they can show me around.
I love Lebanon very much, and whoever will go there, will truly enjoy it!
Lebanon is a place where you’ll find nearly everything and everyone!
If you want to ski, just go to Faraya in the north! If you want to have a little drink and nightlife,go to Monot in Beirut! If you want to hang out in local coffeshops with the argile and the cards, visit the southern suburbs of Beirut :-D
If you’re just excited to have a warm swim, you’ve got the mediterranean sea right beside you!
Want some Roman flavour? No problem! Go to Baalbek or Tyre or Byblos! :)
Meet the diverse people of Lebanon: the Shiites,the Sunnis,the Maronites,the Druze,the Greek Orthodox,the Armenians,the Palestinians etc. :-D (alot,aye!)
Meet the strong and hospitable people of the South to tell you about their stories of survival while offering you the best coffee available
Meet the people of Mount Lebanon talking about their grandfathers while they offer you some good wine
Meet the laid back people of Beirut
Meet the cheerful people of Tripoli
You’ll love Lebanon, hopefully the situation there gets much better,so get ready for a rollercoaster ride! ;-D (oh,and you gain some weight while in Lebanon, but hey,no pain,no gain! :P )
my guide told me that Nina Simone once gave a concert at the ruins of Baalbek. when you’re there imagine that evening…. i can’t think of many things more other-worldly than that maust have been.

I’m going to Lebanon this week. Some people think it’s crazy to go on vacation there, now, but all the people I know there say that, despite the political turmoil, it’s not a mistake to visit now. I can’t wait to be there!

I am half Lebanese! Proud to be except my mother never learned Arabic and so I never learned either. I want to learn about my heritage and culture there…I hope that it is safe for when I want to go.
Lebanon was amazing! It was so beautiful and I was so lucky to have been there 3 times already. The beaches are wonderful, the people are so friendly… its just so beautiful there!
compare the attitude there to the attitude in Israel, and try to see the civilian side of the conflict; figure out why Hezbollah insists on firing rockets from civilian homes, putting their own people in the line of Israeli fire.
